North Field's Stream

north field stream by marilynn z. nielson, 9 x 12 oil on board canvas, SOLD

This plein air painting was done in a beautiful pastoral setting known as the North Fields. You can paint all day and rarely see anyone, but a few farmers coming to check on their cattle.  Much of the area is wetlands and there are numerous streams and ponds.  The grass grows thick and high and must be heaven for the numerous cattle and horses that call it home. It is a favorite spot for artists.  When I look at this painting, I can still feel the heat of the day and recall the swatting of flies and the dodging of ants.  That’s just part of the fun of painting outdoors. ~ marilynn
