thanksgiving point’s water tower by katrina madsen berg, 16 x 20 oil on canvas, $525 unframed.

When the kiddos and I embark on an adventure, the usual query is, “momma, is it a little far away or too far away?”  I tell them that Thanksgiving Point, The Children’s Museum, Red Butte Gardens, Jake’s house in Park City, the MOA, and the temple, are a little far away.  It seems to pacify their nerves and keep them patient as we trek through one of the beautiful canyons on our way to our destination.

Thanksgiving Point is one of those “little far away” places that always has something intriguing taking place.  Whether it is a concert, corn maze, wedding, or an exhibit, we find all sorts of reasons to go and go again.  The kiddos love to go to the Children’s Garden, though most of the events we attend there are not repeated for there are so many things to do there.

During this year’s Thanksgiving Point plein air contest, I chose to paint the iconic water tower.  I truly enjoyed the time  and was especially happy to join one of my best friends, Nance, for the event. ~ katrina
