While working on this painting of my grandson sliding into third base (photo courtesy of local newspaper) he expressed concern, because he had been called out by the umpire and didn’t think he wanted a picture of that event.  I told him not to worry.  The next time he came to see the painting I showed him that he was no longer out, because the umpire that had been inserted at the left of the painting was signaling him safe.  Oh the power of the brush. ~ marilynn
