ask the artist: jan perkins

Alright folks, now is your chance…to ask all those burning questions you’ve always wanted to know about artists in general, or specifically wba artists creating along the Wasatch Back!

Jan Perkins has offered to be our first artist in question.  So ask her anything you like {in reason of course!}.  Some things you might ask her could be:

  • Where do you you find your inspiration?
  • How long have you been painting?
  • Do you live on a farm or ranch in Oakley, and how many animals do you have?
  • Have you ever painted your animals or do you paint any animals that you find?
  • Where did you go to school?  What did you study?  Art?
  • How long have you been in the art business?
  • What advice would you give art collectors and/or aspiring artists?
  • Where is the furthest you’ve gone from home, and do you enjoy traveling?
  • Do you have an embarrassing story associated with art that you’d be willing to share?

Leave a comment or email your queries to me by Tuesday September 28th.  Jan’s answers will post Thursday September 30th.  Oh, and keep an eye out for our monthly giveaway next week.  I’m excited to share that it will be one of Jan’s prints…you won’t want to miss it!

***If you offer a question, you’ll receive an extra entry in next week’s giveaway!***

What do you know about the Russian Impressionism workshop in Midway October 7,8,9th? Have you ever attended it?

    Hi Karen 🙂

I’ve not been able to attend as 3 days away from my three wee ones is a feat. 🙂 Though I think Marilynn and Janice have both been. I’ll find out and see if they’d tell us a little about it. (Though everything I’ve heard has been very positive).
